Meet the Founder β Massimo Ruano

Iβm Massimo Ruano, the founder of Scientialex Ltd. With years of experience in food safety and HACCP-based systems, I work directly with business owners to create solutions that are legally sound and easy to apply in day-to-day operations. Food safety has always been more than a box-ticking exercise for me. I believe that when businesses understand and apply the principles correctly, they not only protect their customers but also strengthen their reputation and grow with confidence.
Experience & Formation
My early career was shaped at Laboratorio Dacecologia Srl in Francavilla al Mare, Italy, where I worked from 2000 to 2003 in the Microbiology Department. During this time, I gained hands-on experience in:
- Chemical and microbiological testing of foods
- Water quality testing
- Hygiene monitoring in food environments
- External consultant for food businesses
This laboratory background gave me a strong technical foundation, blending scientific precision with industry needs β skills I continue to apply in consultancy today.

Beyond Food Safety
While my consultancy work focuses on compliance, my interests go further. I am passionate about nutrition, food quality, and the effect of food on health. I also take a strong interest in issues of food authenticity and adulteration β such as ensuring that products like olive oil, honey, or other high-value foods are genuine and free from misleading practices. These perspectives allow me to approach food safety not just as a regulation, but as a way to protect consumers and help businesses earn trust that lasts.
