Nutrition
Food safety and nutrition are closely linked.
Ensuring food is safe protects people from immediate harm. Understanding nutrition helps people make informed choices that support their health over time.
This page exists to explain how nutrition content fits within Scientialex, and to signpost a temporary educational opportunity currently available.
Temporary student clinic opportunity
Available until 30 April 2026
For a limited period, a £20 nutrition consultation is available through a supervised student clinic, led by a qualified and experienced Nutrition Therapist.
The reduced fee reflects the educational nature of the clinic. The standard private fee for a similar consultation would normally be around £125.
How the student clinic works
- The consultation is delivered by a qualified Nutrition Therapist.
- Trainee practitioners attend the session for learning purposes.
- The consultation takes place live on Zoom.
- Around 20 to 30 trainees may be present as observers.
During the session, participants are able to discuss health concerns from a nutritional and lifestyle perspective, with the therapist guiding the discussion towards understanding possible underlying factors.
This is not a medical consultation, diagnosis, or treatment.
Privacy and consent
- You are not required to state your full name during the session.
- Personal identifiers are kept to a minimum.
- However, this is not a private one to one consultation.
- Health information is discussed openly within a supervised training group.
Participation should only be considered if you are comfortable with this format.
